Breitling AB0510U4-BB62 Mens Transocean Unitime Watch – Reviewed

The Breitling AB0510U4-BB62 Mens Transocean Unitime Watch is the watch in focus today and what a watch to start with. This beautifully designed piece has become the main, heavily advertised piece for this year and has been sported by the advertising machine that is David Beckham. Having the 'Beckham' brand advertising this specific watch has raised the already high profile of Breitling and made the watch brand fashionable. But please don't think this is only a fashion brand as the heritage of the brand put them well alongside some of the major brands in watchmaking such as Rolex, Omega and Oris to name a few.

The Movement

The movement of the watch is Breitlings very own Breitling 05 Movement which was launched by Breitling in 2012. In 2009 Breilting took a decisive step by unveiling a high-performance caliber endowed with a brand-new architecture. This introduced Breitling into the highly exclusive circle of watch manufacturers to possess their very own mechanical chronograph movement. Breitling are renowned for having their entire range of watches chronometer certified. The chronometer certification means the watch keeps time to within a certain tolerance over a set period of time and the Breitling AB0510U4-BB62 Mens Transocean Unitime Watch and this watch is well within the set parameters. I am a massive fan of Breitling and the amount of time they put into the crafting of these beautiful timepieces (no pun intended) is quite amazing. But these are all of the things that are not seen when crafting a Breitling watch.

The Dial

The dial is set with the standard 3 sub dials used for the chronograph function on the watch and comes with a nice light blue globe in the centre to give a completely different look to it and set it apart from the rest of the Breitling watch range. The dial is then set into a highly polished Stainless Steel case which measures 46mm across the diameter and has a depth of 15.4mm. Breitling watches are well known in the industry for their size and this is no different as the watch is a really good size and is quite a weighty piece, weighing 112.5g for just the head of the watch. Add the Stainless Steel bracelet and this watch is a lovely heavy piece. You can really feel the quality of the build in this watch and it is no wonder this is quickly become a Breilting fan favourite.

The Bracelet

The bracelet on the Breitling AB0510U4-BB62 Mens Transocean Unitime Watch is an Ocean Classic bracelet and comes with a fold over clasp with additional branded folder over safety catch to ensure the bracelet keeps fastened and keep the watch on your wrist. The mesh styling of the bracelet offers a very flexible fit so it is a very comfortable bracelet to wear, fitting very snug to your wrist when adjusted to the correct size. This design bracelet was first launched by Breitling on the Heritage range and was very well received so has now been carried over to other models.

Overall Thoughts

The overall feeling of the Breitling AB0510U4-BB62 Mens Transocean Unitime watch is one of very high regard as this is a really good quality piece, well made with a fantastic movement keeping excellent time. The styling of the watch is superb and is being marketed by one of the biggest brands in advertising, brand Beckham. The weight shows the quality of the watch and the case is beautifully polished to give a really nice finish. The Sapphire Crystal glass has been treated on both sides with an anti-glare finish so you can tell the time at all angles and the light blue globe on the dial sets it aside to other watches in the Breitling range. In my opinion a very luxurious watch, and with the finance options available, an attainable price point.
